About Us
PHOS was built out of frustration.
Not frustration with skincare routines — though that too. Frustration with a $400 LED mask market full of devices using cheap, inaccurate wavelengths, flashy features, and marketing budgets that far outpaced their actual technology.
We looked at what dermatologists and photobiomodulation researchers actually studied — 415nm Blue, 630nm Red, 830nm Near-Infrared — and built around those exact parameters. Nothing more. Nothing less.
The PHOS Standard
Most consumer LED devices offer a rainbow of underpowered wavelengths because it looks impressive. We offer three — because those are the three that are actually studied.
Every PHOS device is engineered around consistent irradiance output, intentional wavelength selection, and medical-grade materials. Not because it photographs well. Because that's what makes the science work.
- Targeted Wavelengths — 415nm, 630nm, and 830nm. Selected because the research is there.
- Consistent Output — 44 mW/cm² blue, 30 mW/cm² red and near-infrared. Measured, not estimated.
- Medical-Grade Silicone — Hypoallergenic, flexible, designed to contour without gaps or light leak.
PHOS devices are developed in collaboration with a licensed medical aesthetician, ensuring every technical specification translates to real, visible results on real skin.
From Guelph, With Intention
"I founded PHOS while studying at the University of Guelph because I was tired of seeing $400 masks built on cheap 850nm LEDs. I personally unbox, test, and ship every single one from here in Guelph to ensure the wavelengths are accurate. We aren't a massive corporation. We're a boutique operation with a single focus: technical integrity."
